Women in the Art World Killing Shit
I was made by a woman and raised by a community of strong black women so it’s no mistake that my best teachers and my biggest inspirations are women of
color and it’s a amazing time to see other folks recognizing the shine. When the intellect and style combines, its a finesse fest.

The man has done the work of 10 legends in his lifetime and still puts in pain. I see some of my obsessive straights in Q, but I’m also reminded that I’m slacking in these streets.
I’m jumping between Miles Davis and Quincy Jones live in Montreux and Shyne’s first LP.
My Not So Guilty Pleasure
I’m feeling like another Black Golden Age of TV is upon us. We love how Donald Glover is moving on his polymath vibe. He’s from ATL, but his pops is from the BX. Lets not forget the roots. Melina Matsoukas, who is from my hood, Lena Waithe, Issa Rae and Shiona Turini. It’s really dope to see the
creative expression from the writers room, the directors chair and the costume department form like Voltron.
Politics As Unusual
Life’s a trip because I was literally at a dinner table with a C-suite executive when I got a call from my brother, who is facing crazy numbers, to bail him out. Living between the two worlds is a trip. A few weeks ago my brother got snatched up by the FEDS and a few days later I was giving a talk at the MoMA. Shits wild. With that being said here are some things and people that keep me a bit hopeful.
