Before the summer came to a close, the Baltimore-based songstress released the sweet “Lovebug” that had us all bitten by love. Recently opening up for Majid Jordan, Beya sat down with Bricks Magazine for a quick chat about the music industry, being a woman, and words of wisdom.

Pharrell Williams Is Using New HU Adidas Line To Bring People Together

by Shantel Noel | published: Nov 11, 2016

Pharrell Williams’ creative efforts have always served the people. His selflessness is likely one of the main contributing factors to his success. His new HU Adidas line continues to mirror these same values. Williams shared some of his thoughts on working with the brand as well as finding it hard to believe that he is actually working for Adidas today. At this year’s first ever ComplexCon, he shared memories from his early interactions with the brand and explained that this collaboration was one he never saw coming. “I saved up my first check from working at McDonald’s to buy a discounted pair of Adidas. I’ll never forget, they were the red and gold Instincts. After that was a Lakers-esque mustard and purple low-top pair. I didn’t have enough money to buy clothes, so my mom still had to chip in and buy my clothes for the school year.”

Pharrell’s career is a true testament of the saying “anything is possible'”. The unisex line features unique apparel and technology infused sneakers. One of the HU’s standout accents would have to be the pieces that feature the phrase “Human Race” translated in English, French and Japanese. Williams has not only created music that speaks to the times we are living in, but his role in the fashion world has allowed him to carve out a lane that is also inclusive. He elaborated on the collection stating, “if you’ve got the ambition to just do better, this is for you. [Hu] is not gender specific. It’s not sexually orientated. It’s just for human beings with ambitions of better days.”

Check out some of the standout pieces from the collection below.

Known for her ability to experiment with fashion and to always execute, there was certainly no surprise that Zendaya‘s upcoming and highly anticipated clothing line is on the heels of its release. Daya by Zendaya will feature pieces all under $160 and sizes ranging from 0-22 “for all beautiful bodies out there.”

Set to release this November via an eCommerce platform, the new line was co-curated by Zendaya’s close friend and stylist Law Roach. With hopes of creating garments that defy trends, the 20-year-old singer and actress shared that she believes “clothes are supposed to be emotional” and that “there is no right or wrong, no singular style.” Not only do we agree, but we’re also super proud of this young, daring talent. Kitty Cash Releases “The Sweetest” Merch for ‘Love The Free’ Inspired Line From The Pack

by Shantel Pass | published: Oct 26, 2016

From your earbuds to your closet, Kitty Cash returns with Love The Free merchandise from her The Pack line. The collection is on brand for the Brooklyn-based DJ whose devotion to keeping R&B legends alive remains front and center. This first drop, entitled “The Sweetest,” features a bubblegum-blowing Sade Adu t-shirt, hoodie and pin set. Shot by Joe Cav with creative direction from Cash herself, the promotional video is also ’80s-themed, drawing inspiration from one Kitty’s favorite movies, The Warriors.

I love the raw and uncut New York of the late ’80s. It captured a piece of New York that I always felt I wanted to experience and be a part of. You were either down with your crew or you weren’t. The kids were young, wild, and free [and] we wanted that same feel for the video,” said Cash in a press release.

Check out the Quil Lemons shot looks below then grab your own Love The Free apparel at Kitty Cash’s official online shop.
