Jams of the Month: October

Holiday season is rapidly approaching and, as a lot of us cling to what’s left of above-mid-60’s weather, Saint Heron’s October Jams of the Month is curated with enough trap trills and r&b-tinged vocals to hit that sweet spot between your last outdoor summer function and your first indoor autumnal kickback.
Takeoff’s “Last Memory” and Lil Yachty’s Playboi Carti-assisted “Get Dripped” are sure to sonically caffeinate all your drowsy energy while Lafawndah mellows the vibes with essential wind-down tunes. Meanwhile, Jean Deaux’s magnetic flow on “Way Out”, Chynna’s charismatic potency on “Xternal Locus” and Mick Jenkins’ electrifying lyricism on “Gwendolyn’s Apprehension” complement the warming force of Summer Walker’s “I’m There” love musings.
The last quarter of 2018 kicked off with album and EP releases from some of music’s most exciting artists including Mick Jenkins’ unflinchingly thoughtful Pieces of a Man to newcomer Summer Walker’s fittingly transitional Last Day of Summer, and you can get a dose of that with the October Jams of the Month.
