Women Of Color To Contribute To A Solange Inspired Course Syllabus

Our boss lady Solange Knowles continues to empower women to rejoice in their skin. Her third studio album A Seat At The Table has not only provided impeccable music but inspired a shift in the way women of color practice self-love. Women between the ages of 16-30 are now being asked to share their stories using texts, music, and visual art that speak to their personal experiences. These submissions will contribute to a Solange inspired syllabus. Solange’s album uncovers many truths and speaks freely on issues that directly affect women of color and it is time for all of us to join in on the conversation.

The team behind this genius idea includes Melissa Harris-Perry, Wake Forest University students, and scholars who will examine resisting racism, understanding gender and sexuality, and the role of relationships and nurturing ourselves. Those interested in submitting material for the syllabus can do so by heading over to seatsyllabus.com. Submissions will be accepted until January 31st, 2017.
