Watch Pharrell Take a Knee During a Charlottesville Concert


In light of current controversy, taking a stand for Black lives means taking a knee.

A countless number of people have stood in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players who have taken a knee during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and injustice against people of color. Yesterday, Pharrell added his name to a long list of performing artists (including the iconic Stevie Wonder), athletes and public figures who joined the symbolic protest in solidarity after Donald Trump’s uprooting comments about NFL players who participate in the action.

I wanna get on my knees right now,” Williams said. “If I want to get on my knees right now for the people of my city, for the people of my state, that’s what that flag is for,” he continued, in reference to the national anthem and the American flag.
