Telfar Clemmons Wins CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Prize

Brilliant non-conformist Telfar Clemmons was this year’s Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)/Vogue‘s Fashion Fund prize winner. As one of the few otherworldly creatives who can take the most peculiar ideas and make them stylish, the Liberian-American designer’s unisex line Telfar is absolutely deserving of the $400,000 USD reward. Accepting the award he said, “I just want to thank everybody for being down… I know it’s been a hard, long road but that’s what pioneers do. This is coming back to Queens.

Chromat (swimwear) and Ahlem (eyewear) were the runners up for a $150,000 USD prize. All three labels (and the remaining finalists) will also receive the support and guidance of Vogue Editors and CFDA members. Congratulations, Telfar!!
