SZA’s Highly Anticipated Album ‘Ctrl’ Has Arrived

Having “Love Galore” and “Broken Clocks” on repeat for the past few weeks, fans finally can blast singer SZA‘s long anticipated debut LP Ctrl all summer long. After releasing her EP, Z, SZA has been featured on projects from Kendrick Lamar, Isaiah Rashad, Schoolboy Q and Rihanna. It’s been almost three years since fans have heard a complete body of work from the singer/song writer and her cult of fans are ecstatic. After TDE’s songstress dropped the video for “Love Galore” ft. Travis Scott, women everywhere knew they were in for a merciless, savage, treat of calling some exes out for who they really are, while keeping it real about who they were.

Opening up her album with lyrics like, “I’m writing this letter to let you know / I’m really leaving / And no I’m not keeping your shit / Heard you got some new homies / Got some new hobbies / Even a new hoe too/ Maybe she can come help you / Maybe she can come lay do” it is clear, SZA has no interest in tip-toeing around what she has to say. Confidently cooing away about love, lovelessness, insecurities, grinding and of course those savage tendencies, SZA has arrived and delivered an album packed with summer mood anthems. The upbeat album will keep you dancing while reflecting on your ex, your next, or maybe the guy you’re seeing now that you’ve been having second thoughts about. Regardless, each song is uniquely different than every other, still follows SZA’s style, and flows from beginning to end with the personal touch of her mother’s wisdom as narration.

Ctrl is here. Stream it below and be on the look out for tour dates the summer!
