Spillage Village Shares Salient ‘Bears Like This Too Much’ EP

Atlanta-based rap collective Spillage Village released an 11-track EP entitled Bears Like This Too Much and it’s a fusion of the artists’ innovative sounds. Three years later, artists EarthGang, J.I.D, JordanxBryant and Hollywood JB have released another installment in their Bears Like series. The group of emcees continuously construct their own individual styles of music, and this special project is the perfect blend of all of their sounds. The EP features many familiar artists such as Dreamville Records’ Bas and singer-songwriter Quentin Miller with production from Mac Miller, J. Cole and Childish Major. You may recognize the Hollywood JB-produced track “Can’t Call It” featuring J.Cole and EarthGang from “Jermaine’s Interlude” on DJ Khaled’s Major Key album. The assortment of cuts provided on this tape are full of vibes and well-crafted lyricism.

EarthGang told The Fader, “It’s the third part to the saga. We use these “Bears” projects like checkpoints, markers in time. The first one came out when we first started fucking around with these sounds. The second one came as niggas had toured a little bit, learned a little bit. At this point now, we’ve been on tours, we’ve got a lot of other things we’ve been working on.” They continued, “We’ve worked with a lot of artists. We’ve seen a lot more. So this project is the next chapter of that. It’s everybody’s songs. Some solo songs. Some collaboration songs. It’s definitely a crew tape. It’s not for the likes, it’s for the love.”
