Solange Slays SNL With “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair” Performances

Black girls have been slaying everything this year from the enterprise world to the world Olympics. This latest slayage is being brought to you by our very own Solange Knowles. Just minutes ago she rendered an ethereal live performance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

Performing “Cranes in the Sky,” Solo seemed to completely defy gravity in an all white two piece with a gorgeous, diamond-studded overlay and matching Shani Crowe headpiece. Our leading lady’s angelically light vocals floated above the delicate harmonies of her three background vocalists while the band flawlessly carried out the track’s mellow instrumentation. She closed the show with an equally graceful performance of “Don’t Touch My Hair” alongside Sampha and her band. Completely rocking out with the same carefree dance moves we loved in the visual, Solange’s SNL set was like a dreamy all white party. Both tracks are from the songstress’ third studio album, A Seat at the Tablewhich debuted at number one on Billboard.

Watch Solange bring the same meticulous aesthetic detail from her music videos to life in “Cranes in the Sky” above and “Don’t Touch My Hair” below.
