Sampha Takes Home 2017 Mercury Prize

Experimental R&B singer-songwriter Sampha didn’t expect Process to be received so well. The deeply personal and unique album released in February came with a short film and zine, all conceptualized and brought to life by the London-based artist. This year, Sampha took home the 2017 Mercury Prize for Process previously won by Skepta for Konnichiwa. In his acceptance speech, the singer dedicated the award to his parents. During the show he also performed “No one Knows Me Like the Piano.” Watch the full show on BBC here. Congratulations to Sampha for his recognition on such a moving piece of work!
