Questlove’s ‘Creative Quest’ Book Due April 2018

Musician and human river of creative knowledge Questlove has a new book on the way. The pioneering drummer and member of The Roots is a highly respected individual and music expert who has had amazing (deserved) longevity in the industry. So as his drum pedal gets a break while he dips a toe into the literary nonfiction pond, we’re planning to have our eyes glued to the pages of Creative Quest when it releases in April.

Questlove is no stranger to the world of books, however. In 2013 he released a memoir titled Mo’ Meta Blues: The World According to Questlove, and all music-head foodies have already added 2016’s something to food about: Exploring Creativity with Innovative Chefs to their collections. But Questlove’s new book is said to be filled with the gems he acquired throughout his career’s trajectory as well as his highly revered wisdom on inspiration and originality. Ecco Books, Creative Quest‘s publisher, has been quoted as saying, “[In this book, Questlove] addresses many topics — what it means to be creative, how to find a mentor and serve as an apprentice, the wisdom of maintaining a creative network, coping with critics and the foibles of success, and the specific pitfalls of contemporary culture — all in the service of guiding admirers who have followed his career and newcomers not yet acquainted with his story.
