Moses Sumney Releases Hauntingly Beautiful “Lamentations” EP

Moses Sumney is back as promised with a gorgeously rich new project, Lamentations. The EP speaks for the lonely, the gospel-inspired R&B lover, with a cathedral-like fullness in vocal execution and sonic richness. The highly notable single “Lonely World,” featuring bassist Thundercat, is named best new track by Pitchfork for it’s perfectly crafted exemplification of the ecstasy of loneliness. “Incantations,” the last track on the project puts a spin on a classic latin tale, crafting a woozy and haunting experience like much of the entire project’s essence. With the release on the night of the Black Moon, the sounds of Sumney’s latest release fits perfectly with the crispness of the air and incoming fall. Listen to Lamentations below, and catch Moses Sumney on select upcoming tour dates of James Blake’s US tour.
