Master P Stacks His Limitless Legacy with Forthcoming “King of the South” Biopic

Master P is continuing his long list of production credits with the making of his own life story. Titling the biopic King of the South, Percy Miller plans to tell his life story dating back to his adolescent years in New Orleans. The living legend has already called on a few of filmmaking’s greatest minds to help orchestrate his biopic, including Academy Award nominee Queen Latifah and The Wire’s Wendell Pierce.

According to his official statement on the forthcoming production, he feels “the timing is right for me to tell my story.” He continued, “It was tough back then especially being from the South, New Orleans was the murder capital at the time. I want others to learn from my mistakes and understand my work ethic of never giving up, no matter what it may look like.

Of the many things taken from his insightful narration of our own Solange’s A Seat at The Table, we know we can rely on the wisdom beneath Master P’s thick New Orleans accent to speak truth onto tales untold. He’s continued to showcase the pride in his roots by assuring us that New Orleans will play a prominent part in the film. He’s even chosen to cast the city’s natives in hopes of discovering the untapped talent of The Big Easy.  “I believe there are so many talented actors and actresses that just need a shot,” he explained.

The biopic of the No Limit general will begin production this summer. Interested actors may attend an open casting call on Tuesday, April 4th from 11am to 5pm in Gretna, Louisiana. For more information on the film,  check out the website here.
