Madison McFerrin Is A Soul Singer with “No Time To Lose”

Madison McFerrin is soul, carrying raspy vocals accented by lyrics dipped in passion, rhythm and blues. Based in Brooklyn, the soul singer has spent majority of her life cultivating and grooming her talent with hopes of infusing old school soul into present-day mainstream music. As the co-founder of funk/soul group Cosmodrome, she toured the Eastern U.S. hitting up venues like NYC’s The Blue Note to Bonaroo Music and Arts festival to opening up for Emily King and Hiatus Kaiyote. Such performances eventually gained the well deserved attention from notable artists like Chick Corea and Questlove. Since then, joining the SpiritYouAll band as a background and featured vocalist led by her father, jazz vocalist Bobby McFerrin, she has sung with the legendary Aretha FranklinGeorge ClintonPFunk All-Stars and De La Soul backed by The Roots.

Directing her attention on her own sound, she curated and her released her debut EP and first installment of her acappella series entitled Finding Foundations in December 2016. Her first visual from the series, “No Time To Lose,” directed by Anna Wise comes as an ode to self love and features McFerrin strolling down the streets of Brooklyn with promises of never playing the fool again. Check out this feel good video above. If you will be in New York on February 16th, you can catch both McFerrin and Wise live! More info here.
