Issa Rae, Roxanne Gay & More Host ‘Historically Black’ Podcast

Issa Rae, Heben Nigatu and Tracy Clayton of Another Round, Roxanne Gay and more have joined forces to host the Historically Black podcast which shares material worth revisiting in 2017. Naturally, these phenomenal women have had their hands in many pots last year and as usual, the final product is always something to admire. Historically Black touches on stories that explore the depths of our heritage as black people including love and identity.

The effort is in collaboration with The National Museum of African American Historyand Culture which has already been life changing for many. The museum celebrates Black history and manages to tell important stories, but of course cannot tell them all―at least not in this lifetime. Prior to the opening of the museum, The Washington Post put out a call to invite people to share their stories, family photos and objects that connect them to black history. This call is exactly what brought the podcast to fruition. If you tune in, you will recognize a few other familiar voices such as Keegan-Michael Peele of Comedy Central’s Key and Peele.
