ICYMI: Jordan Peele and Spike Lee are Filming a New Thriller, ‘Black Klansman’

Two known crowd-rattlers are teaming up to add another historical Black film to their impressive resumes. Get Out creator Jordan Peele has recruited veteran direction from Spike Lee to produce Black Klansman, a film about an African American man who infiltrates the KKK in 1978.

Based on a true story, Ron Stallworth was a Black Colorado detective who answered a newspaper ad seeking new Klan members. By mostly doing his work with the terrorist group via phone or mail and sending a white police officer in place when necessary, he rose through the KKK ranks to become a local chapter leader. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee will direct the film while Peele and Blumhouse Productions will produce.  Denzel Washington’s son John David Washington will star as Stallworth in the film. There’s no set release date as of now, but based on what we’ve learned, we can anticipate another box office success.
