ICYMI: Chance The Rapper Debuts “First World Problems” with Daniel Caesar on Colbert

The dream duo we never knew we needed manifested on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Chance The Rapper debuted a new song featuring the sonically magnetic Daniel Caesar titled “First World Problems.” The song was initially untitled but Chance took to Twitter to change that. The father, rapper and hometown hero’s powerful lyrics sail Caesar’s lacy guitar melody before they share a call and response-style chorus segment. Their live string-assisted tune builds with a full band echoing the intensity of the rapper’s heart-stirring lyrics that offer a sobering look into his thoughts on fame, local violence and America’s standing issues from racial, social and religious flaws. The third verse’s closing refrain lends a final gut check, “These are first world problems that ‘niggas make up’/ keep on playing, we gon’ shake the shit up/ keep on telling us we makin’ it up/ the American dream, may you never wake up…
