Leaving his position as Fashion and Creative Director at W Magazine, Ghana-born fashion maven Edward Enninful has just been named British Vogue’s new editor. Beginning his career in fashion as a model, Enninful later became a Contributing Editor at both American and Italian Vogue (among many other publications). Having paid his dues and made efforts to successfully diversify the fashion industry in it’s entirety, Enninful is just what British Vogue needs.
Described as the brave and bold choice, Enninful will bring about positive change for British Vogue. Since he pioneered November’s “I am an immigrant” movement, it’s perfectly clear that Edward is not only aware of the racial issues, but also of the political issues that continue to plague society. Enninful is fearless in addressing these issues and he possesses the ability to truly understand the importance of representation, which has certainly made him the man for the job. Congrats are in order and we certainly cannot wait to see what greatness will come of this very prestigious appointment.
