Beyoncé and Jay-Z Release Joint Album ‘EVERYTHING IS LOVE’

One of our favorite things about music is that it just continues to get better as time goes on. And just shy of the half-year mark, 2018 continues to deliver some of the best surprises music has to offer. The most highly anticipated, possibly materialized joint album from The Carters (Beyoncé and Jay-Z) officially dropped Sunday and while it’s not at all what many of us expected, it is certainly everything we all needed from the queen and her partner-in-crime king. Trap Yoncé shows out in each number on EVERYTHING IS LOVE, keeping up with Jay’s bars and slick punchlines, though she occasionally tags her soulful side in to lay down some ornamental harmonies.

There are boastful tracks like “APE SHIT,” a few loving numbers like “HEARD ABOUT US” and some jams that combine these highs like the feel good “LOVEHAPPY.” Affirming cut “NICE” features Pharrell and at the end of “BOSS,” big sister Blue sweetly shouts out her baby sibs. Personal fave “BLACK EFFECT” is one I’m deeming the Black National anthem of this summer, while the sensually sweaty album opener “SUMMER” is the perfect summer lovin’ mood.

The project debuted exclusively on Tidal but can now be streamed via Spoitfy and Apple Music below. Watch the “APE SHIT” video above.
