Misty Copeland is becoming a iconic household name. She became the first Black woman to become a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theater, was recently honored by Mattel with her own Barbie for their Sheroes Collection, released a memoir, landed the cover of Time’s Most Influential People issue, and became the subject of a documentary.

Now, a biopic based on her memoir, Life In Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina, is being made by New Line Cinema and Remember The Titans screenwriter Gregory Allen Howard. Watching Misty’s career flourish has been so inspirational to all of us at Saint Heron. We’ll certainly be in line when the movie’s released, but if you want something to tide you over, you can read the biopic’s source material or or you can rent A Ballerina’s Tale: The Incredible Rise of Misty Copeland on Amazon!
